Adrian took a few steps closer to Liam, just enough to place his compatriot within sword range. Of all people. . . the Kirin would likely catch onto that quicker than anyone still living in this world. Now the stakes came up higher with each passing moment as one side awaited to see if they would plunge.
Plunge anywhere but into HIM, of course!
Looking the poor man straight in the eye with a gaze capable of terror and hentai blushies in the same instant. Depending on the person any combination of those two remained possible. Only his most recent enemies failed to show such save for when their lives were proven to be up for the taking. Right now a frightening reality existed for the one Tepes stared down.
+++++
Meanwhile a floating sword made itself known through spanking Seiilla on the buttocks to dislodge him from fighting with Luka any further.
++++++
Unsheathing his sword in a way that left behind only a silver streak the intention became clear as it rushed right into Liam without enough time. Not enough time to even guess where it would land. Where to be precise? Exactly where the space existed between the arm & chest cavity. . . through the narrow gap of that Kirin's armpit. A perfectly executed ploy involving stage combat skills.

The Kirin tried to take a few steps backward but a tree root nearly caused him to trip, keeping him in place. He raised a hand, ”W-wait! Master!” But it was too late. The sword struck.
Liam’s knees buckled as he reached forward and grasped the sword, his eyes going wide with shock and his face becoming a mask of surprise.
And if it were possible, his eyes opened even wider and his face became even MORE of a surprise. The Kirin suddenly gripped the sword at risk of slicing his own hands open. He put his weight on the blade as he reached out and grasped Adrian’s shoulder and threw them both to the ground just as a heavy axe sank into a tree directly near them.
A familiar telltale rasp sounded behind Adrian. But if it was what he thought it was…why couldn’t he sense it?
+++++
Sei let out a wail as someone or SOMETHING began to wail on him. . . and a second later, Luka let out a surprised wail of her own.
The boy’s bushy head had just moved out of the way when she caught a glimpse of something A TAD OFF. Namely, A BIG FUCK-AXE HANGING IN THE AIR.
She grabbed the boy tightly, rolling off to the side just as the blade sank into the ground. Luka practically threw the boy, sending him rolling out of the way as she scrambled to her feet.
“What the hell!?” She had never seen anything like it. It was huge, taller than any human or Half-Breed she had ever seen. Its breath rasped out of the mask strapped to its face, though the mask hardly did anything to conceal the grisly scars and stitches that lined its skin.
The Auto-Jager let out a loud growl as it lunged forward, easily tearing its axe from the ground as it followed up and swung it at the girl.

Forgive my actions if you can. . . friend
The mental message was sent to the Kirin while they both went toward the ground. One just might wonder what it felt like to actually dodge a move that way. Usually he could become mist to avoid such a basic attack. In fact this reminded him of a certain enemy from the castle. But a curious realization struck him. . . namely the fact his senses could not immediately determine the foe who had appeared.
Upon noticing the predicament of Luka. . .
He knew she could handle herself & yet. . .
Adrian's very form seemed to warp out of reality itself only to be replaced by a mighty wolf. Blazing white with a speed that beguiled man & demon, the Wolf closed in on the Auto-Jager before it could likely even complete the blow aimed at Valentine. Nothing could truly stop him or harm him in this state beyond solid stone or steel. Every time he had used this move in the past against an opponent they could do nothing to avoid damage.

Liam would consider forgiving Adrian after he got over being TRAUMATIZED. But for now, he had taken cover on the ground with Adrian. At least for a second, anyway. As per usual, the Half-Breed was back up and moving in a matter of moments. The tree that had been so bravely sacrificed didn’t even have time to scream. But now…it was eye for an eye, and bark for bark.
The Kirin had squeezed his eyes shut when he and his master had dodged, but when the physical sensation of his Master left him, another one took its place. Namely, the eerie sensation….THAT HE WAS GOING TO DIE. His eyes snapped open just in time to see yet another axe glinting in the air above him. He let out a cry before rolling to his side, the axe throwing up a cloud of dirt. Now, the Kirin had a foe to death with on his own.
As for Luka, time seemed to slow down as the creature turned to give chase and she staggered back to flee. The leather and thick hide-like material that covered its body groaned as it raised its giant axe again, preparing to split her into pieces. A faint hint of fear had begun to enter her features as she gathered herself, preparing to take some sort of action—hopefully one that would keep her from getting killed.
The axe was raised now, it’s cold metal surface gleaming at her like a sun at high-noon. The wind howled. Or was that the wind?
A shower of sparks erupted in mid-air, the Auto’s axe meeting the flurry of fur and teeth. Twin furrows appeared behind each heel as it braced itself against the blow. It seemed to hold up steadily until it was suddenly thrown back, unable to keep up with the sudden power. Its large body was thrown like a ragdoll, flying through the air until it struck a large tree. The tree quaked, a loud crunch echoing through the park as the impact site was reduced to rough splinters.

The Wind 'howled' when the wolf stopped moving out of the sheer MENERGY left eddying in the aftermath. Judging from the looks of things, the Half-breed has yet to lose the sheer impact which that move utilized. It stood between the Auto-Jagar & Luka for a few moments to observe the scene in an almost freeze frame way. One which would send an artist off to fetch his finest oil paints to try re-capture the small yet triumphant moment. Fur which held the luster of an otherworldly animal's coat moved seemlessly with the wind. Eyes glittered with a vitality beyond nature & gave a glimpse into the shadowy wilderness that was the man's often tortured soul. Torment which seemed to have parted in some way due to Luka's presence.
One bark was all she recieved before the Wolf repeated the same move while heading toward Liam's assailant. Charging head-on at such a speed he knew the Kirin would still manage to sense his rushed return in time. But in time for what? To brace himself for the howling winds & the strange sense of distortion that comes from one being passing through another. Going straight through the ever loyal Liam, Adrian had already begun to change form once again while maintaining his momentum before the distortion ended. . .
. . .To reveal a somewhat large vampire bat!
Merely a few feet from the Kirin, the momentum carrying this Nocturnal Nightmare found itself improved upon through a secondary use of supernatural acceleration. The Tragic Prince intended to smash clean through this other Auto-Jagar using his wings. What would the outcome be? Either way, when the momentum ran out. . . he would take on his human form once again.

The large wolf barked.
“…Good boy.” Luka sighed out as he rushed off once more to aid his comrade. Once he disappeared into the trees, the Hybrid turned her attention back to the foe that had been smashed into the tree…Only to find the tree unoccupied.
Luka quickly turned on her heel, leaning her upper body back as a gleaming blade cleaved through the air in front of her. She grimaced and ducked down, dropping to one knee as she brought up one leg in a fierce kick. The blow connected with a dull thud and a crunch, the Jager’s thick body giving a tremble as her heel sank into its ribcage from below. A burble of heavy liquid trickled from its lips, likely from the heavy internal damage. Though even after that blow, the creature barely slowed. It continued to lumber forward, huge slivered chunks of tree sticking from its back like some kind of grotesque porcupine.
A hand moved to grasp at Luka’s ankle faster than she anticipated and the next thing she knew she was airborne. She let out a sound of surprise, curling her body to brace for impact until a sudden frustration built up inside her. Luka’s body moved before she realized what she was doing. What seemed to be a sort of after-image appeared in the air as she performed a particular move, stopping her speedy progress into destruction. If the Halfbreed had been watching he might or might not have been irked on her infringement of his copyrighted move-set. But it didn’t seem likely. Bats didn’t have eyes in the back of their heads after all. Or did they?
The moment she dropped to the ground and had solid footing, she was off again, charging toward her foe. It certainly seemed like she could take after herself.
Seidei on the other hand was lying on his belly beneath a hedge, debating whether or not he could attempt to help Luka.
+++++
A sharp whistle-like sound had pierced Liam’s ears, causing him to wince and clasp his hands over his ears.
The giant bat out of hell met with the Auto-Jagar’s chest, knocking the creature backward with enough force to make it look as if it had been hit by a car. It slammed through a group of fledgling trees, snapping them like twigs. The Jagar’s body tumbled to the ground, sliding and tearing up the ground beneath its back. It lie still in a broken pose, limbs limp and heavy. Its chest did not move with breath...Had he killed it?
Hell naw.

The fact his opponent survived a move which could bisect lower-level creatures did not mar those exquisite features with surprise at all. Plenty of creatures had survived that particular move in the past. Even Tepes had shown the capacity to withstand one such attack when it came from a his own Doppleganger a few hundred years ago. Over the years it had grown in power and due to a recent event his potential power had likely grown even beyond what he could currently concieve.
But it did not change the fact he faced a durable foe.
Adrian rushed toward the Auto-Jagar with his sword drawn to meet it. Just as the Auto-Jagar stood up a silver light moved toward it diagonally & slashed into the axe with a curtain of sparks flying everywhere. Right then the sword was actually caught in the axe. But not for very long at all. Empty air existed in front of him but not behind. Two slashes shot out to possibly leave a bloody X along the back.
During the temporary displacement of him returning to his original spot, an idea occured to the Half-breed. What idea? Using a move which combined some of his most useful abilities. It would certainly prove a critical hit if used correctly. For this reason, when he reappeared to a plane of existence that the Auto-Jagar could attack him a series of moves would follow in tandem.
Crouching down he thrust the tip of his blade with a terrifying amount of unholy might toward the chest of his enemy. If successful, the two would suddenly become airborne far above the trees. All that remained in Tepes wake was the fading blue left behind from the extreme speed of his hyper jump. Reaching the peak of their ascent, an extra upward 'oomph' came in the from of a double jump to force the blade into the Auto-Jagar up to the hilt. Up until that moment Adrian was below the Axe-Weilder before using his momentum from the secondary jump to also force a rotation of their axis. Tepes' back was to the night sky now while the Auto-Jagar's back had been turned toward the ground. During that one moment his opponent would feel the blade swiftly pulled out. If one looked up into the sky it would seem as if they hung up there defying gravity for but a single moment.
Then came a rather harsh kick to send the Auto-Jagar downward back to Earth.
Descending toward the ground now, Adrian did not completely cease his attack. Perhaps some would claim what came next as the 'Kabash'. Both of his eyes closed during the fall in concentration before unleashing a fairly old magic spell called 'Tetra Spirit'. Four vengeful spirits sought a justice from beyond the grave & headed straight at the Auto-Jagar. Just how much of a beating could these creatures take?
Liam . . . can you sense the one controlling these two?

It was true that his potential power had grown quite a bit - a fact which made this particular Auto-Jagar’s durability something of an oddity. After all, it was nothing more than a Methuselah fiddled with by the Marionettenspieler...but perhaps the puppet-master’s skill was growing as well…
The curtain of sparks cast an eerie burst of illumination between the two opponents. Harsh, artificial red glinted from the goggles of the Auto-Jagar, whilst an entirely different glint sparked in the Half-Breed’s steady gaze. The massive puppet leaned into their cross off when it shuddered, a wet sound filling the air as a large, crimson X split along the thick leather that covered its bulky form. Not being made for speed, it was left vulnerable to Adrian’s designs.
The tip of the blade entered the Jagar’s chest with some resistance, as if it were sliding into a chunk of iron. Within moments they were airborne, a gurgling growl sounded from the beast as the sword sank into it up to the hilt. The chest of the creature was so thick that only a small amount of the weapon appeared on the other side. Their forms were soon reduced to mere silhouettes as the bright light of the moon drowned out all detail. The ground below lined up with the back of the undead soldier as the blade was torn from its chest, a thick gush of black blood arching behind the cutting edge.
As the four spirits curved and swooped toward their target, the Auto-Jagar showed no outward signs of resisting. In fact, up until now it had behaved like nothing but a dead lump of meat. When it finally began to move it did nothing flashy or even fast. It merely spread its arms out, as if embracing the fate that was playing out around itself.
The spirits met resistance. Like a spider web laced with drops of dew, something burst from the body of the Auto-Jagar. Drenched in ‘blood’ and red like the string of fate, streams of glistening filaments blossomed around the creature. One stream twisted to form a tendril that reared back before striking out at the Half Breed, the motion a mere blur.
From elsewhere, the Kirin responded to Adrian’s inquiry. ”I…N-no, I can’t! I—“
+++++
The girl engaged her foe, leaping a short distance before she reached him. The creature had lumbered forward, reaching out a massive hand for her, to grab her, to gouge out her insides, who knew. She wasn’t about to stand still and find out. Her heel met his shoulder before a fierce kick connected with the back of his head. A satisfying snap sounded, making the bushy-haired boy nearby grimace. Luka twisted, about to take another leap when something large connected with her back. Her eyes went wide as she was struck down, her body hitting the dirt with a hard impact. She slowly rolled over, her eyes blinking repeatedly as she fought to get her bearings. The young woman turned her head to see what had struck her only to see a…dog? Make that an unconscious dog.
She staggered to her feet, sneering at the foe who had just regained his own footing. But then she realized that he was the least of her problems…Luka’s chin tilted upward as she realized it wasn’t just her own recent spill that had made her vision go wonky…it DID just get darker.
Three massive bodies stood in front of her, making the group she faced off against a total of four.
“What the hell! You guys don’t play fair! Just for that I oughta…” she didn’t get to finish. A leather-clad hand slapped against her shoulder from behind, while another arm slipped around her waist. She felt hot breath against her neck just as everything went white.
The touch lasted mere moments, but for each involved, it was one that sent shockwaves through their systems. The girl lunged forward, falling to her knees, her arms barely managing to catch her weight before she fell headlong onto the ground. For her, the touch lasted a painful eternity.
The creature was thrown onto its back. It lie there, back arching and body twitching spastically inside the heavy suit as if it were in the lingering throes of ecstasy. The hand it had touched her with remained stretched into the air, fingers grasping at nothingness. For it, the touch had not lasted long enough. For such a lowly creature, the touch had been as though it had reached paradise. To merely cower in the shadows of their lord was nearly more than it could bear…but to touch one…to lie hands on one of the gods...to have only a taste was unthinkable.
Like an animal stalking its prey, the creature slunk to its feet, eyes focused on the young woman writhing on the ground. It knew exactly what was happening to her. To think of the agony its mere touch caused her sent a thrill through its body. With the other path to the girl sealed off by the other gigantic Methuselah, it stalked toward Luka. It leaned over, reaching out with a clawed hand.
”HEY!”
A rock slammed into its head, sending its thin body reeling.

[ Liam? LIAM?! LIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM?!]
Before his very eyes, an enemy which would've likely fallen already in the past still stood on both feet. Just what would it take to bring this foe down? New tactics? It wasn't as if he could simply pull new powers out of his cloak. Abilities came with age for those who descended from Vampiric blood. Relics alone were the reason he possessed such power compared to not only other Half-breeds but even to some full-blooded Nosferatu.
Familiar sounds filled the air as tiny filaments burst forth from the Auto-Jager soaked in defiled blood. The Silver-haired man knew the sound rather well after several encounters with the Marionettenspieler and had learned to listen for it. Given it was covered in blood, it could easily be tracked through both sight and smell. Did he fear these strands which had caused him so much anguish for months?
Speaking of anguish. . .
Pain struck the Half-breed just as the tendril of filament blurred foreward in an attempt to give the gift of sorrow. A gift that would be returned one day if there was justice in the world. But for once, pain rescued Adrian from a worse fate as he was struck with a blow capable of rendering Black Kirin unconscious. It caused him to faulter into a crouched position which let the crimson tendril breeze past his head on the right side. All around hiim, his cloak billowed protectively to shield his body from the invisible assailant. Droplets of blood flung from stained his hair in an abstract pattern which truly held no meaning at all.
Eyes which normally held no emotion at all other than lonliness or rage, now looked straight ahead at the Auto-Jager. It only took place for a split second. . . leaving no time for the tendril to react enough to attack Adrian. But just long enough, perhaps, to get the desired reaction. Gazing directly at where the eyes would normally exist on a Methuselah. . . what did he hope to accomplish? It was as if he believed staring into the window of a soul that no longer existed would grant him some audience with the one orechestrating this attack.
The one pulling the strings.
"Soon."
Finally the true intent behind his actions made itself clear in a shocking display of cunning. At the moment pain from Liam had struck him, the cloak covered his body in a way that almost appeared sentient. But that was not true. Could the twilight cloak really 'live'? It had always pulsated with the crimson glow of enchanted energies. . . perhaps such a thing was possible after all. What occured within the cloak was the true surprise however, for it was when Adrian had switched to a different sword than the family heirloom.
Thunderbrand.
Only too late would the change in the air as it crackled with electricity give warning. The power it utilized far surpassed the lightning gun or the strange new taser device from previous encounters. Flashing out with a blinding light, the elemental sword of Indra slashed directly into the filament tendril. Blood would only aid in the conduction straight to the enemy Auto-Jager. Perhaps now he would learn just how connected the master truly was to his puppets.
". . . . . . . ."
And the puppets to eachother.

Luka groaned as she lay curled on the ground. There was a dull ache in the middle of her back where the dog had been thrown against her. From what she had seen, it sure wasn’t a small dog either. She shifted, sliding herself against the cold ground and almost immediately bumped into something furry.
“. . .”
Well, that was odd…it was the dog. Shouldn’t it have landed—wait, now wasn’t the time to think about physics! Was she even thinking about physics right now? It sure didn’t sound like it. The voice in her head was talking about something else.
’P---se d--’t move. Plea--, --ease, don’t move! Please, lady, don’t move!’
The dog squeezed its eyes tightly shut.
Since when did the voice in her head sound like a guy and why was his voice all broken up like that?
+++++
”Yeah! That’s RIGHT! Bet you didn’t count on THAT! There’s a rock to join all the others in your head!”
The little bushy-haired boy continued to egg on the thin creature on the ground, laughing as he made quick gestures at his foe. At the same time though, he was taking small steps backward. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to do that, now that he thought about it…But what else was he supposed to do!? With Luka on the ground (what the hell had that thing done to her, anyway?!), he had no other choice.
He swallowed hard as the skeletal thing got up and staggered around, quickly straightening out. The top half of its body whipped around as it hissed at the boy through its gasmask. Whatever hid beneath it barely acted human. It crouched, eyeing the boy like prey, making him take a few actual steps back. Just when he thought it was going to pounce, it did the next worse thing instead. Odd barking growls issued from the pitiful thing and the light was blocked from Seidei’s view.
The boy blinked and took a few shaky steps backward. Three of the Jagars stood in front of him now, the huge sentinels blocking his view of Luka and the giant black shaggy hound. He staggered backward as a giant hand lashed out. Empty air greeted the appendage as Seidei fell onto his bottom, scrambling backward as quickly as he could.
”Stranger danger! Bad touch!” the boy said as he scampered away, the Auto-Jagars in quick pursuit.
+++++
Despite being roughly sewn together, nearly disfiguring such basic a feature, the lips of the Auto-Jagar curved upward in an all-too-familiar, soft, knowing smile the moment before Alucard struck. Following the blow from the Thunderbrand was the sickening scent of burning flesh, scorched leather and melting rubber.
The giant creature shuddered, thin bolts arcing across its body as it attempted to move forward. It took a few jerking steps before coming to a halt, its great body toppling forward like a tree. Even the Puppet Master couldn’t do anything with fried flesh. The Jagar was nothing more than a chunk of meat now.
+++++
Elsewhere, there seemed to be a momentary ‘lag’ in the movements of the creatures pursuing the boy.
+++++
Even more elsewhere, the skeletal creature closed in on the pair on the ground.
Luka continued to gaze at the dog with slight bewilderment. Was she hearing…a dog’s thoughts? Was she hit harder than she thought? Maybe she was, because Luka hardly noticed anything else until something wet dropped onto the ground between her head and the hound’s. The wet spot sizzled as though hit by acid. She squinted, ready to pull back as she saw the hound’s eyes widen and his lips curl back in a snarl.
The Liam-hound leapt up, his jaws audibly snapping as it ripped at the skinny creature’s throat. His jaws met a thick leather hide but he clamped down, jerking his head from side to side as he tried to tear in deeper. The creature yowled and staggered back, striking at the hound with its fists. Liam yelped loudly as a chunk of thick spittle struck his shoulder, the thick fur singing away with an acidic hiss.
As the creature gave him a particularly strong pound to his back, the hound was forced to let go and landed on the ground, backing away toward the woman on the ground, snarling at the leather-clad creature.

Adrian looked normal as he stood motionless for a few moments to watch the creature as if to ensure it was going to stay down this time. To kill the same opponent more than once became a waste of time when other people's lives were in danger. Before the creature fell to that electrical attack Alucard had seen the smile and knew Dietrich had seen him. Did he really think that accomplished anything? Could the Puppet Master be intimidated?
". . !!"
Painful burns seared away at his previously flawless pale flesh hidden beneath all those layers of clothing. Acid burns? Just as he turned around to face the direction of his friends there was also a sharp blow to his back. Once again pain was sent through his body. Yet the fact he had endured worse before & survived became apparent. Clenched teeth were the only outward evidence he allowed to show of the pain other than the concealed wounds.
Thunderbrand crackled in his hand but he sheathed it away.
Adrian's form distorted into obscurity before becoming a wolf once again tonight. Charging straight at the Auto-Jagar who had harmed Liam, his fur blazed with a white glow as the legs of his canine form quickened. Obviously he intended to knock the creature down. What ollowed that move remained to be seen if he had a plan. If one looked they would notice fur missing in the same spot of this wolf as the injured dog. But that required seeing past the glow.
