Katherine's happy expression faltered for a second and a hand unconciously went to her face. The movement was akin to going up to a sleepy person with a panicked expression, putting a hand on your face and screaming 'WHAT'S THAT!?' only to have them freak out and say 'I don't know!' then to grin and say 'It's your nose.' LEAVING THEM CONFUSED, BEWILDERED AND WITH A RACING PULSE THAT WON'T LET THEM FALL BACK TO SLEEP!! *howling of damned souls in agony*
The hand then went to her elbow where a hidden bandaid lay. Was that what he meant? No, wait, he wasn't even around for that. Her mind raced and backtracked through her actions and she raised her thumb in his direction again before bending her wrist so that the digit faced her, revealing the faded mark.
EUREKA
"Oh, that!" She laughed lightly. *barrage of mental images, some violent, some not* "I was trying to pass the time and made an art. On my thumb." The rest of her fingers uncurled, revealing a smattering of faded faces on each of her fingers. Each face was distinctive and...familiar? Although they were only made with chunky markers it might have been clear to Leon who they were. There was her father, her mother, her brother and one face with faded blue eyes...But it was clear that even though it was faded now, she had used the brightest blue marker she had available.
"I wish I had remembered that they were permanent markers though before I did it..." Taking into account regular hand-washing the marks had to have been there roughly a week or so.

Nothing managed to hold back the genuine smile that cracked apart his mask of a facial expression. One that went a little farther than his faint one which made appearances when something amused him. How long it since a smile like that came onto his face, no man could say. All from seeing a face drawn onto a finger, that had faded blue eyes on it.
"I'm glad you didn't."
Leon spoke softly, but trying to retain a manly edge to his voice. Saint did not want appear as some type of cheeseball or sappy guy. A kind of guy who often turned out weak, something he could never be if he wanted to stick around Katherine. Or at least not without getting left behind. . .or killed.

Katherine didn't pick apart or poke fun at his comment this time and just let it casually pass by. She heard the words but was puzzled slightly by their meaning. Maybe.
She only smiled slightly as she rubbed her fingertips against her thumb briskly. "Good thing they weren't scented markers though." She looked at Leon then with half-closed eyes, weaving backward and to the side as if she were off-balance. Her voice drawled out slow, "You try the blueberry scent, man? It's awesome..."

He sighed before turning his head to briefly glance over at the dash of his motorcycle. Just how long would pass until one of them started to dislike the playground. Voices of dead children whispering while footsteps rustled did not exactly mak a romantic place to have a first date. If they had been on a first date, anyway. Not out of the location itself, but how the place gave off that uneasy vibe of the supernatural with those cold mists wanting to make spines shiver.
"Would you like a ride, Flower Child?"
One hand had reached out to gently grasp her shoulder, intended to stop the false swaying.

Katherine's regular dealings with the supernatural had likely desensetized her in a way to the less...violent counterparts of the Heebies the playground was inhabited by. Unless, you know, the invisible kids decided that they wanted to tickle some spines with sharp knives instead of just cold breezes...Of course it still wouldn't be her ideal place for a first date either. If they had been on a first date, anyway.
Her green eyes snapped open when she felt a hand on her shoulder, the suddenly tense muscles thankfully hidden under the thick leather but nevertheless giving a small twitch big enough to feel.
"Yeah, sure." she answered as she straightened up. And she really would like a ride too, considering she had been walking this whole time. No she didn't walk to New York from Rome but she had been spending each day in New York wandering in the different direction, taking the streets that tourists didn't. By the time she had reached the playground her legs were getting tired.

Leon felt her muscles tense under his touch, ignoring it somewhat from the way he remained passive. Until she replied with her decision. Without a word he saddled himself onto the white motorcycle after putting on a helmet he pulled out for himself. Of course he did not intend for his friend to risk her own safety, produced one for the Belmont girl.
Turning the key after putting it in the ignition, he started to rev up the engine through the handlebar. Saint seemed ready to leave the strange playground, though it left a few mysteries unsolved. One certainly turned into the reason behind Leon visiting such a haunted little locale instead of placing himself in a snazzy hotel. Perhaps he was waiting. . .
Once Katherine got on, he would set off into the night wherever she wanted him to go. Easy enough to get the point across too, since the helmets had a headset. An idea picked up from a close associate.

Tucking her hair into a loose mass at the back of her head before slipping the helmet on. She took her spot behind Saint on his pale horse, experimentally coughing lightly a few times into the mic before speaking. "So do you have anywhere in mind?" she asked, feeling pretty sure that Leon had some business to attend to. For some reason she had the idea that Saint was a busy man. Wasn't he? Even though she knew better, he still sure didn't look like the wandering type.
"We should get out of here though...I got the creeps now ;-;"
AND YES THE LITTLE TEARS WENT OVER THE MIC.
