Something about tonight seemed to change him ever so slightly, in a way that Luka certainly had begun to notice as she curled up against his body. Both types of blood in his veins, his dual natures were at peace with one another rather than war. Just maybe it came from drinking her blood tonight that brought the change in him. Deep inside he often felt a conflict, one much greater any human could concieve or endure. It was as if the world of the night fought with the world of man over who would have to take him. But he belonged to niether one, not seeing things the way other living beings might. Even the moon had a different meaning in his eyes which could witness a shadow in absolute darkness, seperate from that of a man's view. After all he had different eyes than any other creature due to not just his race, but lineage as well. Bloodstained Lineage. Only the fact he lived, that he existed in the realm of reality for all to see gave him anything in common with mortal men or Vampires alike. Not often did his handsome stoic features curve ever so slowly into an expression whch could bring such joy into a young woman's heart while breaking it at the sametime.
While she moved to curl up against him, one arm that had power belying physical appearance wrapped around the girl in a secure yet gentle hold. Protective of her in every sense, for she was the most precious creature in the world to him now. With that type of dedication anyone could see how he would simply throw himself into danger just to see her once more. Meanwhile another arm took hold of his cloak's edge before making it fly through the air to drape over them both. Even in this relaxed state he saw no need to take chances on anyone just. . . walking in. Not that he was ashamed of what he had done either, only wishing to not act indecently. After all he was a gentleman.
In this departure from the usual conflict within, his aura seemed to be under a temporary change as well. Although it would likely return to normal by dawn, to cause such a change in a man who could stay so utterly the same over six centuries fell under noteworthy feats. He seemed so utterly relaxed with her as they laid together, two lovers in the night who had at last found one another after so long a time of hardships. Love had proven at last the age old addage of conquering all, for it had defeated the unstable condition Adrian had been placed in for months. It went on to overcome the thousands of miles of distance between the two. Not one person of sound mind could call that anything but true love in action. He truly was a prince from a dark fairytale in that sense. . . prevailing over any obstacle just to reach the one he wanted to be with most of all. Together their romance could likely overcome even the infinite dangers that awaited them after tonight's glow had left with rays of sunlight.
Memories of the past helped to shape a man's future, in Adrian's case there were likely several hundred memories he possessed that could be recalled easily due to his steel trap of a mind. This night would be added to those as the night one memory helped bring back several others from a mental abyss. Now perhaps, his future. . . the path of his destiny cleared up some for his own security. Hopefully no one else but him would possess the power to chart his own course in his life. The future for him indeed held potential for a seemingly eternal longevity due to the types of blood in his veins. What man could say just how many more years were left on his life? In 1797, his father held the estimated age of around 800 years despite having died at the hands of Vampire Hunters for the continued role as an enemy of the entire world. So just how long would Adrian last as one only half Vampire, trying to protect the world from what not only threatened it but the ones he loved most? Unbeknownst to him an old acquaitence had already been murdered. . . or rather recycled in an unrecognizable manner. Such happenings only proved that no being stood beyond the grasp of Death.
In spite of all that speculation, Adrian only had this to say before passing on into dreamland:
"You are welcome, my love."
